Julia started her career in Retail operations for Lewis’s Ltd, Littlewoods and Mackays where she learned about the challenges of people management at an early age. After discovering her passion for people development she became a trainer at Help the Aged. This gave her real insight to working under tight budgets and being creative with very little resource. A stint as UK Training Manager for Dedicated Micros, (CCTV and video surveillance equipment) was a leap into the field of a fast moving technology market.

Julia was also the first female Head of Training at Greater Manchester Magistrates Courts responsible for up skilling staff and driving culture change. With this eclectic background and as an Accredited Professional Executive Coach of 18 years standing plus 1500 hours of experience, Julia has worked with all levels of managers in the private, public and third sectors. Lesley combines a wide range of skills and experience having worked in the public sector for over 20 years, 11 years as a Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development in two NHS Trusts with over 30 years as a qualified CIPD professional.

Since late 2006 Lesley has worked independently specialising as an executive coach and tutor delivering many different coaching and mentoring programmes including ILM 5 and 7 programmes.

Lesley now specialises in individual and team coaching, CPD and supervision for coaches and mentors, encouraging organisations to maximise their use of coaching, mediation training and taking a coaching approach to complex mediation cases as well as acting as a facilitator to small and large groups to encourage everyone to have a voice.

I run my own management and personal development consultancy, which I started in 2016. As part of this consultancy, I am an Associate of West Midlands Employers, delivering various interventions from training through to coaching across the West Midlands region.

I have over 30 years’ local government experience, the last 15 of which were in corporate organisational development at principal officer / senior management level in a unitary council.

I have extensive experience in the development and implementation of corporate learning & development interventions. I also have comprehensive experience in implementing organisational wide eLearning together with designing blended solutions and Learning Management Systems.

I have developed and implemented a variety of leadership programmes ranging from pre management programmes through to senior leadership development programmes. These programmes were accredited with ILM and underpinned by bespoke competencies, 360 degree appraisal and coaching.
