Ali S

A Chartered Fellow of the CIPD (since 2005) and have over 25 years’ experience and expertise in strategic organisational development, Leadership and HR.

Having worked at the highest levels within HR and L&D functions Ali has developed and delivered national strategies leading large teams for multi-national and global organisations. She now runs a successful consultancy business providing bespoke solutions focused on leadership, strategic planning, HR, learning and organisational development.

Brian C

Catherine P

Catherine is a person-centred, engaging and credible Workplace Psychologist with a background in HR, Training and Leadership Development spanning 15 years.  She currently works as an independent consultant partnering with a range of organisations from all sectors, having spent much of her career in the corporate world at Diageo.

Colin W

Colin is also appointed as an independent investigator under the provisions of the JNC for Local Authority Chief Executives.


David C.

I’m a senior and versatile HR professional, with a wealth of experience working with senior leadership teams across local government. Objective, systematic, thorough and dependable, yet practical and pragmatic where appropriate, I am committed to, and engaged with, the public sector and all organisations that share the same values.


David J.

David is a very experienced HR consultant and former senior officer with a track record of achievement in Human Resources, Education & Children’s Services. He has been a consultant for the last six years handling a variety of assignments in over twenty local authorities as well as other public and private sector bodies. David was Head of HR in a successful unitary council for five years as well as holding a variety of Senior Officer and Assistant Director positions in Education and Children’s Services within the public sector.

David has specialised in the provision of in depth investigatory services and advice in respect of grievance and discipline. Many cases have been complex with the capacity to adversely impact on employee relationships and the reputation of the organisation. He has also been involved in mediation services as well as the provision of coaching and mentoring to managers across several councils. He is fully trained in mediation, coaching and mentoring as well as participating in ACAS professional development activities on workplace investigations.

A further area of expertise relates to advisory services in respect of the management of change and the need to restructure senior management within organisations. David has also played a key role as a Head of HR and as a consultant in the recruitment of senior managers, including Chief Executives.

Fiona N

After 30 years in local government Fiona decided to step outside and run her own business, 3F Consulting ( She supports people to be more engaged at work, which is delivered through motivational training and one to one coaching, and  helps organisations to communicate what they do through creative and down to earth messaging. Fiona loves facilitating away days and conferences – “I’m often brought in to keep events pacey, yet productive”. She been successful in coaching people into new senior leadership positions too.

Fiona is a facilitator for Fresh Air Fridays ( which she intends to bring to local government as it’s very practical wellbeing support involving “taking you outside so you feel good on the inside”, in short it’s coaching in the open air in small groups, often on a Friday!

Her last role was on the shared management team of Wychavon and Malvern Hills Councils where she managed all the corporate wide services from strategy, performance and communications to member services, elections and customer services.

Known for her energy and excitement, which in turn rubs off on others. Also known for her love of new challenges – whether that’s setting out a new strategy, a new change programme or running a marathon!


Gary C 

Gary is a CIPD Chartered Fellow, a Fellow of the Learning and Performance Institute, a qualified coach and member of the Association for Coaching, a Personal Trainer accredited by the REP, a teacher, a qualified workplace mediator, a qualified H&S professional, a distance learning tutor, and more besides.

Gary has worked with Boards, Executives, Senior/Middle/Junior and aspiring managers and staff at all levels. He has experience of working in Central Government, Local Government, Further Education, Social Housing, Pharmaceuticals and Not for profit organisations, and with organisations of varying shapes and sizes.


Jillian R

A former Executive Director of HR&OD, Deputy Chief Executive and Acting Chief Executive with over 25 years leadership and senior management experience gained in county councils and London Boroughs. Has extensive experience of working with organisations to help them address long-standing employment issues, resolve disputes and long- standing difficulties, improve performance, implement culture change and deliver organisational development. Lesley P

Lesley combines a wide range of skills and experience having worked in the public sector for over 20 years, 11 years as a Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development in two NHS Trusts with over 30 years as a qualified CIPD professional.

Since late 2006 Lesley has worked independently specialising as an executive coach and tutor delivering many different coaching and mentoring programmes including ILM 5 and 7 programmes.

Lesley now specialises in individual and team coaching, CPD and supervision for coaches and mentors, encouraging organisations to maximise their use of coaching, mediation training and taking a coaching approach to complex mediation cases as well as acting as a facilitator to small and large groups to encourage everyone to have a voice.
